One Hundred Shades of White

I was rambling through the old library between ruffled binded books..not able to make my mind as to which book to read...then i saw a pink lady glancing at me through the corner of her eyes, our eyes met and i picked her up...she was none other than One Hundred Shades of White written by Preethi Nair.
I read the cover and i liked it but was not able to bring myself to read it..i asked my sis, that whether she is interested in reading it...she agreed to issue it. She read it and recommended me..I read the first page not because i was bang on to read it but there was nothing else for murdering time at the doctor's place. First few pages and the book proved a magnet to silly old iron chunk (mee).

Amazing book I can say, will say and keep saying it until someone chokes mee. The writing style is amazing. The book has been written in first person. And it becomes interesting wen one sees the same life through two different eyes. Once it is Maya who speaks about her life and then comes Nalini, her mom who tells what all is already said by Maya but through her point of view. I particularly liked when Mom says my children liked the visit to Madame Tssaud's museum, they were happy but when it cums to Maya she blurbs that visit to the wax museum was soo boring.

I could completely relate to the book. I found myself in Maya. she is jus like me. Rummaging through life, searching for answers, and not able to come 2 agree with anything. not that she doesn't trust anyone but everything seems so different to her and Oh! how cud i not match her roller coaster life which is common to the hilt between us. I can say she is my alter ego. this is the only book till now which has made me cry. i felt the book.

I interprete this book in my own way. Gratitude keeps our life going. We should thank each and every person/situation/incident in our life. we don't know what teaches us what. may b some decades later we gonna hit upon the same thing which we are facing now and at that point we won't have anyone to thank to. We cannot miss upon forgiveness. it will help us see ways through difficulties.

we always see situations our own way. we never understand what the other person might be thinking of it. how is it to her. even if for a micro milli second we watch the world through other person's eyes, i bet the whole perspective would change. we wont b hurting anyone anymore and life would seem so much better. Thats what the writer hints upon when she skips from maya to nalini.

Truth is not only what we see. but truth is also what others see. and my truth and her truth can be completely different. this is what we should come to agree with life. and somewhere in my deepest of core i believe there are one hundred shades of white. and i like d bright one.
